KEY FEATURES

ViQi
ViQi allows you to manage your radio and perform information lookups using voice commands.
This feature is purpose-built for better communication and is active when you press and hold the assigned programmable feature button on the radio.

SmartProgramming
Motorola’s SmartProgramming service enables radio programming and updates over LTE broadband connection while the radios are in use.
Seamless updates of firmware (full and differential), radio configuration and security updates are scheduled by the radio system administrator and the radio user is given a choice to install immediately or delay for later.

Long Term Evolution (LTE)
MOTOTRBO Ion enables broadband data capabilities and instant PTT voice over your LTE network of choice.

DMR (MOTOTRBO)
MOTOTRBO Ion is fully interoperable with your existing MOTOTRBO and other Tier III DMR systems for instant PTT voice and data, and MOTOTRBO system licenses are included with your Ion device.

Location
The Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) integrates information from the Global Positioning System (GPS) and the Global Navigation Satellite System (GLONASS) to determine the approximate geographical location of your radio. You can use Indoor Location to keep track of the location of radio users. Dedicated beacons are used to locate the radio and determine its position when indoors.

Advanced Noise Suppression
The MOTOTRBO Ion features dual microphones which have the noise cancelling feature for clearer audio in high-noise environments.

Wind Noise Suppressor
The radio automatically switches to Speaker-As-Mic (SAM) when talking in windy environments for improved transmit audio intelligibility.

Automatic Acoustic Feedback Suppressor
The built in Automatic Acoustic Feedback Suppressor activates when two radios get in proximity with each other without compromising the audio quality.

Seamless Voice Handover
You can seamlessly communicate through voice and data, over public and private networks. Seamless Voice Handover automatically switches you to broadband when you roam beyond your radio system coverage, so your connectivity is always on when you need it.

The Motorola Ion’s 4 inch main display is usable with gloves up to 4 mm thick and is resistant to false actuation from fresh or salt water, snow, dirt or grease.

It’s IP68 rated, completely dust-tight and protected from immersion in water up to 2 meters for 2 hours.  The Ion’s Gorilla Glass touchscreen is inherently rugged for excellent impact resilience.
