In a multi-site radio system (like Hytera's IP Site Connect or XPT Multi-site), roaming allows a radio to automatically detect and switch to the best available repeater as the user moves from one coverage area to another. Without this license, the user would have to manually change the radio's channel or zone to connect to a different repeater, which is inefficient and can cause communication gaps.

The SW00012 license is a one-time purchase that is applied to an individual radio's serial number. It is essential for users who operate across a large geographical area covered by multiple interconnected repeater sites, such as in logistics, large-scale security, or utility management.

 

Installing the license into the radio typically involves these steps:

  • Purchase: Acquire the license from an authorized Hytera dealer, providing the radio's serial number.

  • Receive File: The dealer provides a license key file (e.g., in .dat format) specific to your radio's serial number.

  • Connect Radio: Connect the radio to a PC using a programming cable.

  • Open CPS: Launch Hytera's Customer Programming Software (CPS).

  • Install License: Navigate to the license management section in the CPS and import the license file to write it to the radio.
